YACPA is not a traditional college experience. Here's Why!
Cast Member + Student
All YACPA students are cast members of The Young Americans.
All cast members of The Young Americans begin their journey at the College.
The Young Americans is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1962 with the mission to inspire the world through music.
Five decades later the organization continues to fulfill its mission with performances, outreach tours, and its own college of the performing arts.
The cast members who join are performers from around the world who use their talents to further the mission of The Young Americans.
Cast Member Qualities
Talent and growth potential are necessary and important for all cast members. However, there is more to becoming a Young American than just raw talent. Those looking to audition should also have a strong desire to use their talents as a singer, dancer, actor, or musician to further the mission of The Young Americans.
Each Young American cast member must also have:
YACPA is the College division of The Young Americans and plays a critical role in training cast members.
A conservatory-style program, offering an Associate of Arts in Performance Degree, with emphasis options in voice, acting, and dance.
Develops technical proficiency and uses core academic courses to broaden knowledge and develop well-rounded artists.
The highly practical applications of artistic growth, global awareness, and leadership that are part of the YACPA educational experience help prepare you for any professional career. Our interdisciplinary arts study builds your capacity to think critically, communicate effectively, examine your perceptive lens, and engage in creative problem-solving.
