Open house events are scheduled three to four times per year in conjunction with major performances in Southern California. This provides a unique opportunity to visit the campus and then experience a workshop or see a performance by The Young Americans!
Open House events provide an opportunity to become familiar with the campus, take a master class with artistic staff and faculty, and meet staff, faculty, and students. Whether you are considering auditioning or deciding if YACPA is the place for you an Open House is a great way to see firsthand the YACPA experience.
9:00 AM – Faculty, Student & Alumni Panel
Meet faculty and staff and learn more about The YA College philosophy and approach to training. Current students answer questions about the program and alumni share their professional experiences as Young Americans.
9:45 AM – Workshop
Open House guests will participate in a workshop lead by faculty and members of The Young Americans Artistic Team, this will give a feel of the YA way of teaching.
10:45 AM – Break
Mingle with currently enrolled students and ask questions about student life. Food and refreshments will be served.
11:15 AM – Admissions and Financial Aid Q&A Session
Admissions and Financial Aid advisors will review the application process and next steps in applying for financial aid.
12 PM – Campus Tour
Administrative staff will lead a campus tour and be on hand to meet and mingle with our Open House guests.
12:30 PM – Auditions
Any students interested in auditioning will continue with our audition staff.
Outreach is a weekly project the Resident Company offers each fall and spring to local at-risk students in Southern California

The Magic of Christmas is a 2-hour holiday-themed extravaganza. Featuring all 200+ cast members of The Young Americans as well as guest performers. Entertaining over 12,000 Southern California concert-goers with tap-dancing penguins, disco Santas, and beautiful choral music.

Showstoppers is a musical revue featuring all styles of music including pop, country, blues, classical and Broadway.

Students may attend the Open House on Friday and see the performance that evening OR attend the performance on Friday and attend the Open House on Saturday.

1:30 PM – Campus Tour
Administrative staff will lead a campus tour and be on hand to answer questions with our guests. The Campus Tour and Q&A generally last 1 ½ hours.
Campus Tours are not available on weekends, holidays, or during winter break.

Interested in viewing Student Apartments?
The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts has made special arrangements with an apartment complex located a short walk from our rehearsal facility. You will not be able to view an actual YA student apartment, but you may view a model unit by calling the Hensley Leasing Office at (951) 272-6910. The apartment size and layouts of YA apartments are the same as the model units.
